Branch Outlets

In piping systems, branch outlets refer to the points where a smaller pipe (branch) connects to a larger main pipe (header) to allow the flow of fluids (gases or liquids) between them. These outlets are critical for creating distribution networks in industries like oil and gas, water supply, and HVAC systems.

Types of Branch Outlets

1. Olet Fittings (Outlet Fittings)

   • Designed to reinforce connections between the branch and main pipe.
   • Types of olets:
     • Weldolet: Welded directly to the header pipe; commonly used for 90° branch connections.
     • Sockolet: Similar to a weldolet but has a socket for the branch pipe to fit into.
     • Threadolet: Has a threaded connection for the branch pipe.
     • Latrolet: Used for connections at angles other than 90° (e.g., 45°).
     • Elbolet: Used on pipe elbows to create branch connections.
